Celebrating Sister Virginia Bruen’s Lasting Impact

Congratulations to Sister Virginia Bruen, OP, former director of Siena Learning Center, who was recently honored by the YWCA New Britain during its Leadership Awards Celebration for her years of dedicated service to both the Center and the wider community.

Recognized for the lasting impact she has made as a director and tutor, Sister Virginia has devoted her ministry to education, compassion, and empowering others through learning. Her commitment has touched countless lives and reflects the Dominican Sisters of Peace mission of preaching peace through service and community.

We join Siena Learning Center and the New Britain community in celebrating Sister Virginia and this well-deserved recognition.

How Can You Help?

The Siena Learning Center relies on our volunteer tutors to provide one-on-one assistance to our adult learners, and donations to help us provide books and materials.

How Can You Help?

Volunteer as a Tutor!

If you speak English, you can teach it.

Many people believe they can’t teach English if they can’t speak the learner’s language.  But if you speak English, you can teach it… we can show you how!
